E-noticeboard...
What is E4 exactly?
E4 is the name given to the 3 youth cell groups from St.Peter's Broadwater.
They meet on Wednesday nights, between 7:30pm and 9:00pm. 1 group is held at Phil's house, 1 at Anne's and the other at Michael's.
Why E4?
The name "E4" is short for Ephesians 4...
What's the vision?
The vision is discipleship. We believe that young (and indeed old!) Christians need to be discipled- to be nurtured- and to be guided in their walks with Christ.
The groups are also encouraged to look outwards- to bring along their friends, both to our social and discipleship meetings.
Much of the teaching centres around exploring issues of faith, releasing young people into evangelism and encouraging each other to exercise our [spiritual] giftings for God in our daily lives....
Our vision statement is "To know Christ, and to make Him known." This vision comes from Ephesians 4:11-14:
"And Christ gave gifts to people -- he made some to be apostles, some to be prophets, some to go and tell the Good News, and some to have the work of caring for and teaching God's people. Christ gave those gifts to prepare God's holy people for the work of serving, to make the body of Christ stronger. This work must continue until we are all joined together in the same faith and in the same knowledge of the Son of God. We must become like a mature person, growing until we become like Christ and have his perfection. Then we will no longer be babies. We will not be tossed about like a ship that the waves carry one way and then another. We will not be influenced by every new teaching we hear from people who are trying to fool us. They make plans and try any kind of trick to fool people into following the wrong path."
