HEALING

Jesus gave both power and authority to his disciples to go out and preach the gospel, minister healing and deliverance. In doing so they were to take nothing with them, in order to rely totally on God. when the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ is preached, then we can expect signs and wonders to accompany this. Jesus is the same yesterday, today and forever, so let us place our trust in God as we step out in faith to bring healing to the sick in Broadwater.

NOTICES

Breakout
Broadwater day is only ONE WEEK AWAY and our final preparations as part of our Breakout 08 project are drawing to a close. Please pray that the weather is great – this means not only dry, but preferably not windy! Please pray for everyone who is putting bits and pieces together that they are inspired by the Holy Spirit. Most of all, we want to pray that people are drawn to our tents, and are open to receive. Let’s pray that people move closer to relationship with God through what we do. We are gathering together at the end, to worship and thank God for what He has done. The time to gather is 3.45pm at our tents.

Gift Day for the Breakout event on Broadwater Day - Sunday 7 September
As a leadership we believe that it will be appropriate to take a special offering to cover the costs of the Breakout Project. The Bible tells us that where we sow so shall we reap. By taking a special offering, this enables everyone at St Peter’s to identify with the first step of breaking out into the community of Broadwater, and set up a “bridgehead” for the Kingdom of God to come in our part of Stevenage. We shall take up the offering during our morning worship on 7 September. The budget for Broadwater Day is approximately £1000 and we hope to raise at least this amount from the gift day.

PRAYER FOR BROADWATER DAY
Thank you to everyone who has prayed in the lead up to Broadwater Day. (We will continue to meet this Thursday). It would also be good to have as many people as possible on the day to cover the events in prayer. If you feel able to contribute with this very important aspect, either by praying at home or in the park during the day, please could you speak to Philippa who will also provide you with some prayer points.

Thursday Evening Meetings - An invitation to all at St Peter’s
For many years we have prayed that the Lord bring revival to our community. We want to use the meetings on Thursday evenings as an opportunity to pray for Broadwater and the specific initiative “Breakout” in September to bring the touch of the Lord outside the church to our community. We invite you all to come to the church prayer meeting at 7.45pm on a Thursday evening and join in a time of worship and seeking the Lord.

David Hague says:
Thank you to everyone for your kind prayers, words and cards of condolence following the death of my Mum Elsie on 28 July. I had the privilege of taking the service to celebrate her life on Friday 15 August, with my Dad and Brother and other family members and friends present. Once again thank you all for your support.

Are looking for a volunteer(s) to make sandwiches every Friday, to preferably be made up at home and dropped off at The Living Room before midday. If you would be interested then please ask Janis Feely or Cathy Hayter for further details or call 01438 355649. Thank you.

Junior Church - Pebbles & Rocks
During the children’s school summer holidays (until Sunday 31 August (Today) there will be no organised children's activities in the hall. The hall will be set up every week with unsupervised children's activities so please could parents and carers accompany their children into the hall during the sermon and at any other times when they are restless. Thank you for helping with this arrangement to allow our children's leaders to have a well earned break. Pebbles & Rocks will recommence on Sunday 7 September.
